VOC Abatement Systems for the Printing & Converting Industry

Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers – RTO

In printing and converting applications, the most economical VOC abatement system will usually be Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers.

Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers - RTO Ship & Shore Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers are designed for high heat recovery (~95%) and low pressure drop, resulting in lower horsepower requirements for the blower motor and lower operating cost.

VOC content in the captured process emissions and the heat recovered in the media chambers can result in an RTO that uses very low or no operating fuel after initial start-up.

Re-circulation along with a properly designed VOC collection system can provide lower air volume, i.e. reduced cfm directed to the abatement system, resulting in a smaller and less expensive system.

Ship & Shore is not limited to one technology!

The objective of their design team is to create an emission control system that will best meet the individual needs of each facility.

Thermal Oxidizers VOC COLLECTION & ABATEMENT SYSTEMSShip & Shore specialized in the engineering design of VOC COLLECTION & ABATEMENT SYSTEMS. Acting as an engineering partner with our clients Ship & Shore focuses on each processes unique design to attain a superior solution. Many important factors must be considered to properly design the VOC collection system and to properly size the abatement equipment.

  • By reducing the air volume, total cfm directed to the abatement equipment, the capital and operating cost can be reduced significantly.
  • Customized design of VOC capture and re-circulation systems from selected process areas can reduce air volume requiring abatement.
  • 100% VOC emission capture possible in areas with “properly” designed Permanent Total Enclosures (PTE).
  • High heat recovery and self-sustaining VOC contribution can result in AUTO THERM operation.
  • Possible emission credits for future use toward expansion.
  • Meeting VOC abatement requirements set by EPA, state and local authorities.
